4. ADJUSTMENT and MAINTENANCE of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
Preventive or Corrective Maintenance
We offer preventive or corrective maintenance for all types of failures, covering both hardware and software. We provide comprehensive support for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), regardless of the software.
Know-How
- Inspection of Mechanical Components: Review and adjustment of the X-axis side guide, condition of bearings, drives, belts, counterweight cables, and other mechanical elements that may require adjustment and/or replacement.
- Inspection of Additional Components: Electrical circuit check (power supply, voltages, etc.) and safety system assessment. Pneumatic system inspection (depending on the equipment), including circuit condition, equipment movement, air cleanliness, and filter status.
- IT Environment: Verification of peripheral connections.
- Leveling: Leveling of the table, base, or main carriage, which affects straightness along the X-axis, Y and Z directions, and angularity around the X and Y axes (pitch and roll).
- Cleaning of the Reading System: Inspection and cleaning of scales and adjustment of reading heads.
- Review of Electronic Control Regulation: Inspection of the electronic regulation of the numerical control system.
- Inspection of Equipment Movement: Checking movement along all three axes, rail tracks, and identifying any friction or wear.
- Fast and Flexible Response: Quick handling of all types of failures.
- Experienced Repair Team: Skilled in repairing machines from various brands.
- Wide Availability of Discontinued Spare Parts.
- Multi-Annual Maintenance and Calibration Plan.
CMM Adjustment
The machine must be mechanically adjusted before performing software adjustments. Otherwise, misalignments will increase over time, and the parameters introduced through software adjustments will be inaccurate. This is especially critical for arm-type coordinate measuring machines.
Adjustment Phases
- Mechanical Adjustment: Ensures long-term machine stability and minimizes drift.
- Software Adjustment: Optimizes precision by calibrating the software's adjustment matrix.
Types of Adjustment
- STANDARD: Corrects the six basic parameters that affect machine geometry (positioning and perpendicularity). This option is generally recommended.
- COMPLETE: Corrects all 21/23 geometric parameters (positioning, perpendicularity, linearity, rotations). Ideal for machines that have not undergone geometric correction for a long time, those with very low specifications, or after equipment relocation.
