Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is an additive manufacturing technology. This process, known as 3D SLS, uses a laser source to synthesise small particles of polymer powder, fusing them into a solid structure based on a 3D model.
Since the unsintered powder acts as support for the part during printing, there is no need for additional support structures. This makes SLS 3D printing ideal for complex geometries, such as internal features, undercuts, thin walls, and negative spaces.
Parts produced with SLS 3D printing have strength comparable to injection-molded parts.
